LEGACY VERSION ENDS SOON

With the highly successful phpBB3 version of our hosting system taking off, we want to announce that as of June 1st, 2009 we will be closing our legacy (phpBB 2.0.x) version. At this time, all remaining legacy forums will be automatically converted to our new FF system (using phpBB3).
To the few forums still on the legacy version, we recommend creating a test forum first as phpBB3 can be quite different from what you're used to. Once you're ready to convert, you can always convert your forum before June 1st so you and your team are prepared. Once again, eliminating the legacy version will be a huge step in terms of performance and security for our system. By not having to support two versions, we can focus support and development on a single system. Thank you for using FreeForums.org FREEFORUMS This directly concerns us here at PMF. As we are PHPBB2, a legacy version of the software, we will be upgraded to PHPBB3. We have been waiting for this upgrade now for almost a year, an upgrade which for one reason or another, has been constantly set back. This upgrade will effect us immensely, making our board almost unrecognisable. Overnight, the forum theme, sub-forum picture titles and several other things will completely dissapear and the way the forums work will be slightly different, which some members may find takes some time to get used to. I too will be on a learning curve, since the actual controls for forum administration will be different and much more complex. The upside, is that the forum will enjoy a great many new features. But, with more features comes greater complexity. As always, the Admins will be here to help you through any difficulties you may have in using the forum software. This reminds me of my old job (large hospital) where I would no more than just really learn a system, 3 years it might take to proficiency, then they'd change the system--new and improved!-- and we'd all start over. Progress is our most important product. Thanks so much Michael (and Skep?) for your efforts on our behalf--and the warning. We can work it out. Let it be. All you need is love.
